SONS OF NORWAY FIFTH DISTRICT YOUTH DIRECTOR
A key resource from the Fifth District, our Youth Director oversees the operations of camp.
LISA ROVE-WILLIAMS

Lisa is the Youth Director for Sons of Norway District 5. She is a first-generation American, both parents having emigrated from Norway as young adults. Lisa still has an uncle, aunt, and cousins residing in Norway, with whom she keeps in regular contact, and they visit with each other often on both sides of the Atlantic. Lisa has three sons who all attended Masse Moro as campers and remain involved today as camp administrator, counselor, and volunteer.

Leif is from DeKalb, IL in SONS District 5 and currently lives in Bozeman, MT. He is a financial manager for an agricultural company and is an assistant rugby coach at Montana State University. He has served in various positions at camp since 2016 and is excited to join the administrative team this year!

2024 CAMP DIRECTORS
Camp Directors are onsite during the camp session and manage all of the day-to-day programming, staff, and functions of camp.
RAMONA
Co-Director
Ramona holds a degree in early childhood education from Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee. She was a camper for 6 years and has been on staff since 2011. Her favorite part about camp is teaching Allsang and watching the campers get excited about their heritage. She is very excited to be back on the leadership team as co-director this year!
ESPEN
Espen is an avid outdoorsman from Bozeman, MT. He graduated from Montana State University with a degree in economics. He is excited to be back on staff and joining the leadership team to enjoy the fun and exciting times we have here at Masse Moro.
2024 COUNSELING & ACTIVITIES STAFF
Counseling and Activities staff stay onsite during the camp session, stay in cabins and run the programs and activities at camp.
KAIA-BIRGIT
Counselor
Kaia-Birgit (KB) has been on staff since 2016 and is excited to be back again! She graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2020 with a BA in Theatre. In her free time she enjoys reading, roller skating and traveling.
VIVIAN
Counselor
Vivian recently graduated high school. She was a camper for 5 years and this is her third year as a counselor. She's made so many great memories at Masse Moro and can't wait to be back!
FELIX
Counselor
Felix was born and raised in Porter, Texas. He is currently studying rangeland and wildlife management at Texas A&M. He was a camper for four years and this his is third on staff. He can't wait to give campers the fun memories he was given!
OLAF
Counselor
Olaf is from Coon Rapids, Minnesota and is a Junior in High School. He's gone to Masse Moro for 7 years as a camper and can't wait to be a counselor this year! He hopes to make many great memories at Masse Moro this year, just like all the years before.
MALIN
Counselor
Malin is from Sun Prairie, WI and will be attending UW Eau Claire to study biology and compete on the cheer team. She was a camper at Masse Moro for 4 years and is beyond excited to be a counselor this year!
DAGNY
Counselor
Dagny is from Belleville, IL (near St. Louis, MO). She is currently studying business management and environmental studies at the University of Kansas where she is in the Marching Band and Basketball Band! Dagny was a camper for four years and she can’t wait to be back at Masse Moro.
JOHANNE
Rosemaling Instructor
Johanne has been the rosemaling instructor at Masse Moro since 2003. Rosemaling since her 20’s, she has taken many classes with Vesterheim Gold Medalists and even Norwegian rosemalers. In 2015-2017, she studied under Pam Rucinski, VGM the Gubrandsdal style of rosemaling through the Wisconsin Arts board apprenticeship program. She has traveled to Norway and Sweden with the Vesterheim folk art tours. In 2019 she was awarded a Fellowship through the American Scandinavian Foundation to study folk art painting in Sweden . She has also received over the years numerous awards for her rosemaling, including two Best of Shows at the Wisconsin State Rosemaling Association competition. She looks forward each year coming to Masse Moro to share her knowledge.
